Both are ego-centrical at opposite ends of the 'self' meter.
ReplyDeleteseparate but not opposite. often experienced concurrently and there seems to be a feedback channel between the two. may or may not share a common cause. self-indulgence is more selfish in that self-loathing can indicate a desire for change or betterment, i.e. meeting a set of standards external from self. exiting the loop, departure from selfishness.
